(Semi) Wordless Wednesday - Better Than Toys

I’ve been trying like crazy for the past several days to eliminate the excessive amount of crap my children own. Unfortunately every time I try to banish one of their condemned toys to the “donate” box, said receptacle has been commandeered for less practical purposes. My five year old actually fits quite comfortably with room enough for his little brother to squeeze in. I might have to make an executive decision and save the box in the garage, should that fabled day ever arrive when I finally take action and ship my little band of miscreants to the circus. I can pack at least two of them in happily and still have room left for snacks.

Boxes make the best toys. I don’t blame them one bit! Great picture.

Oh, cute photo! My 7 yr old LOVES boxes and packing materials. We just got a new huge TV and I keep putting the huge box it came in our garage…and my son keeps bringing it back inside to create a fort.

    Nice WW share!

Yeah, my daughter usually loves the box more than the toy. Think of all the money I could have saved…

So funny! My daughters do the exact same thing when I try to get rid of boxes! Next year I’ve decided that’s all I’m giving them for Xmas. Will cost less & they will love it as much as a toy they open and then never play with again :-) LOL

    Happy WW!

And where did all the toys go? Are they lying around somewhere waiting for you to break your neck over them?

By the way: would you perhaps be interested in swapping buttons??
    Hope to hear from you!

Such an adorable picture!!! My kids are the same way. We bought them one of those pretend kitchens and it came in a humongous box! They are still playing with that box!!! My husband was gonna toss it the other day and the kids freaked out!!

    haha-its so funny!
A box can outshine a toy every time!

I say do it! Make sure to use extra tape on the box so the bottom doesn’t fall out in shipping.
Great picture, he looks ecstatic to be getting shipped off!

My kids love boxes! You pay for expensive toys and they are happy with a box! Cute shot!

Very cute picture. Do you happen to have a box that seats four over there? lol

Sprite keeps playing with the tv box too. Only she seems to think the people on the box should be talking back to her. For the last couple of days, she passes by and trys to talk to the woman and man. I really should correct that, shouldn’t I?

Nice picture! Our fifteen-month-old crawls into ANYTHING. Today it was the drawer under the stove. It’s fun until she wants to get out ;) .

Isn’t it funny how the most simple things, like a huge cardboard box, can be the center of a child’s imagination in so many different forms?

  21. Amberon 08 Jan 2009 at 2:58 am edit this

Please forgive me but I’m going to comment here about your previous post because I don’t know if you’ll go back and check those comments.

So, I know I shouldn’t have been amused by your puking toddler, but I was! It must be your writing. Poor little punkin! (and your baby) Nothing is worse than a sick baby. They don’t understand what the heck is going on and they can’t tell you what the HELL they need! My baby (7 months old)has had a cold for almost a week now, and it’s brutal! I’m sure it sucks for him, too.
Maybe you could use that box to catch all the puke??

Who really needs toys when you can just play in big cardboard boxes?? Cute pic. He looks quite content. And you can pack them in those circus peanuts when you ship them to the circus!!!
